Weekly Roundup #12 — Vintage Style Shoots, Sueded Linen Suiting, and (Still) Waiting For The Next James Bond
Welcome back! I spoke too soon, the rainy weather returned to California, and Winter took its final stand on the East Coast—thinking of all my friends out there, I hope you’re able to sustain this final leg of the cold season!
I’ve picked up a few different items that I’m eager to wear, and I’m still figuring out what else I need ahead of our upcoming trip.
I’ve been focusing more on buying things lately that I plan to keep in my closet for the next decade, which makes it a bit harder to decide on something as simple as a t-shirt.
As I‘ve been perusing through my closet and online window-shopping, I discovered five things this week that I’d love to share with you:
Vintage Style Shoot I’m Admiring
Sueded Linen Suiting I’m Checking Out
Watch Collab With The World’s Most Beloved Beagle
Menswear Designer Stepping Down After 38 Years
(Still) Waiting For The Next James Bond
Enjoy!

1. Vintage Style Shoot I’m Admiring
“Outside the belt loops” by O’Dell’s Studios — Tom O’Dell, founder & owner of O’Dell’s Studios & armoire, is one of my favorite people I follow on Instagram, where he shares details about his styling gigs, vintage-market finds, and pics of what’s he’s wearing daily. I loved this latest shoot featuring all vintage pieces, pulled from his archive collection. The items include a pair of 1960s made in Italy Italian wool pleated trousers, a 1970s lace shirt, a 1980s v-neck cricket sweater, and a 1980s leather belt.
I’ve dreamt of the perfect cream, cable-knit, cashmere sweater, and this one appears to be “it.” I love the contrast between the white and black, and mostly, how modern this looks, even though it’s styled with vintage pieces. Beautiful work, as always, Tom.

2. Sueded Linen Suiting I’m Checking Out
The Day and Night Of Coffee & Linen by The Anthology — I’m obsessed with suiting as of late, and this week one of my favorite brands released a “sueded linen” suiting series, in colors inspired by coffee—specifically, “Espresso” and “Cappuccino.”
As always, I love the way the team at The Anthology has styled each suit, making each appear cozy, casual, and elegant, all at the same time. I’m most interested in the material. I’d love to be able to “touch” it, and feel the suede-like texture they’ve described below:
Crafted from 3-ply pure linen, the textile undergoes a rigorous finishing process, resulting in a faded, pre-patina-ed finish that elevates its hand to unparalleled levels of refinement, evoking a tactile texture reminiscent of suede leather.
I actually prefer “Cappuccino”—both as a color and drink (decaf, please)—but I wish they made both jackets available in each color. The double-breasted jacket looks great in “Espresso”; however, I’m in the market for a single-breasted suit at the moment, and the darker shade would be a more versatile option.
You can learn more about these suits here: Single-breasted Jacket in Cappuccino ($1,180), Double-breasted Jacket in Espresso ($1,180), Pleated Trousers in Cappuccino ($425), and Pleated Trousers in Espresso ($425).
