I. Menswear Shop I Visited In The Bay Area
I finally made the trip up to San Carlos, CA to visit Brogue—a menswear shop that’s been on my list for quite some time. Immediately upon walking in, I was greeted by the owner, Mack, and was in awe of the vintage Americana interior, full of leather couches, rugs, and trinkets spread throughout. The clothing selection was equally on par, with walls full of green Alden shoe boxes and Japanese denim, racks with brands like RRL, Freewheelers & Co., and Mister Freedom, and a large selection of belts, necklaces, and rings.
I deeply enjoyed my conversation with Mack, learning about his interest in clothing, the shop’s history, and discovering that he has the largest selection of Alden’s on the West Coast. We also geeked out about watches, niche Japanese brands, and other menswear shops in the world. He also mentioned an upcoming trunk show he’ll be hosting for W.W. Chan in June that I hope to check out.
