I. Podcast I Listened To On The Flight To Japan
Jeremy Kirkland from Blamo! interviewed one of my favorite people in menswear, Todd Snyder, for the third time on the pod. I discovered Todd Snyder back in 2012 after I’d just moved to San Francisco for fashion school, and saw him featured on GAP’s downtown flagship store (RIP) for the GQ x GAP “Best New Designers In America” collaboration. I went in and tried everything on from each designer, and Todd’s pieces stood out to me then, and still have to this day. We carried his label at Unionmade, and during my time there, I bought one of his chambray button-down short-sleeve shirts, as well as some chinos and shorts.
I’ve always enjoyed his products, and while I currently don’t own any, listening to him explain his fundamental philosophy on making great clothes makes me want to drop what I’m doing and find the closest shop. One of my favorite things I learned is how open and helpful Todd has been to many people in the menswear industry, and I loved hearing how kind and thoughtful he is. I’d love to meet him one day, play some pickup basketball, and talk about menswear.
