I. Summer Looks In California I’m Checking Out

This week Drake’s released “The Summer Lookbook,” and as expected, it’s full of great fits that I’ll be using as style inspiration all summer long. Layering always tends to be difficult in hot weather, however Drake’s seems to have pulled it off, in a way that’s true to their aesthetic—British tailoring with East Coast preppy swag—while feeling appropriate for Los Angeles, California—where the lookbook was shot.

I like how loafers with no socks elevates a casual look and makes it feel a bit more elegant. I’m trying to wear my Alden loafers more in a similar way, swapping out canvas sneakers for my more casual outfits, like shorts and a T-shirt. The other “unlock” to layering in warmer weather is in the materials they used for the shoot, featuring mostly linen, cotton, washed denim, and open weave jackets. Now I want to plan a trip to LA.
