Weekly Roundup #9 — Grand openings, Japanese sneakers, and minimalistic style advice
Welcome back! Today’s issue is full of stuff that caught my eye this week. The goal with these weekly newsletters is to share my excitement with you for things happening in my world, whether it be style-related, friends making things, or things I enjoy doing that are semi-related, like coffee, food, travel, and more.
I enjoy dressing up. I enjoy talking with people about clothes. I enjoy receiving and giving compliments. I experienced all of that again last night, for the first time in a long time. It made me wonder how to bring some of that interaction to this community.
Starting today, you can book a free 15-minute intro call with me, if you just want to talk shop or even say hello. I look forward to getting to know you all better soon!
Below you’ll find discoveries from this week:

1. Grand Opening Event I Attended
Tailors’ Keep in Palo Alto — I attended my first menswear event in the Bay Area lsat night. Thankfully, I was able to peel away after dinner and check out the scene at the grand opening party for Tailors’ Keep in Palo Alto. They have another shop in San Francisco—which I’ve yet to visit—and this is their second location, which had a soft opening towards the middle of last year.
It was wonderful meeting the owner, Ryan Devens, and talking with everyone else on his team. I especially enjoyed talking with Tim Marvin and Daryn Hon—where we geeked out about Vintage Armani, thrifted finds, and menswear in general. It was a great turnout. Everyone dressed to the nines and had a shared appreciation of tailoring, cars, and watches. I’m looking forward to future events hosted at the shop!
